Flux Friday!!!!!

Happy Friday! Valentines Day is coming up and you know what fits better than a love bug in a rug? A pair of Flux Bindings.  Go love up on some this weekend.  Here is what our team has been up to this week!

Japanese Flux rider Ryo Aono is killing it in his DMCC lights!  Last week he took third in the X-Games half pipe and this week he blew everyone out of the water to get 1^st in the Canadian Open half Pipe. Ryo Aono’s championship run impressed the crowds with a Cab 1080, Frontside 540, Backside 900 Tail, Frontside 1080 and Cab 720 . CLICK HERE TO SEE THE WHOLE STORY! In celebration of Flux’s 20^th Anniversary, we took high school students from Torrance, CA up to Mt. High to have fun in the snow and learn how to shred! Shredding the love!

Congratulations to Spencer Link for winning the Cholula Triple Air at Mt. High! Spencer threw a switch front 9 off the first jump into a front 7 and finished up with a backside double cork 10 to take 1^st!  Flux rider Lynn Neil got 4^th for the ladies with a back 7 of one of the jumps! Flux Friday! Happy New Year!

Happy Friday! The last Friday of 2011!! Flux has done a lot of good things this season and we are looking forward to an exciting 2012. We are smack dab in the middle of winter. And no snow!? Come on everyone…. Do the snow dance!

Jordan Michilot is pairing his DS30s with his own Academy Bro Model. CLICK HERE to see Jordan’s personalized setup.  The light weight and responsiveness of the DS30’s along with the pop and stability of the Academy bro model board will get you all sorts of Michilot’d.

Scotty Vine made his perfect setup.  He has always loved his SF45’s for response and stability while slashing one footed 720s and hundred foot rails.  Last season his blue, pink and green gradation bindings were well represented and this year, these bumble bee killers will be no different.   He took both colorways of the black and yellow SF45 bindings and mixed them together, then color coordinated the stickers. The stance is 23 inches wide, the front angle is +15 and the back foot is -15. Overall, the entire set up weigh’s roughly 10 pounds.

Arbor Europe holds an annual riders meeting where they meet, greet, and shred!  The European team got to try out their new bindings and it looks like they were stoked.  We can’t wait to ride the new bindings for ourselves once the snow starts to fall.  Check out this video of the Euros killing it…

New England and Utah shops got a chance to check out Flux Bindings this past week.  On a short trip around the area, bindings were brought in and shops got a chance to see what Flux is all about.  Be expecting to see more Flux fans in the area!  Here are a few photos from the trips….

FLUX FRIDAY!

The weather is getting colder and we have seen the first flakes of the season in some of our mountains!  Forecasters say this is the shortest duration between snow storms since 1969!  We want to think mama nature is giving us a taste of a snowy season to come!

Although we still have time until lifts open, we can’t help but get excited. Are you ready for opening day?  Do you have your fresh Flux Bindings on your board?  Flux is in stores across the globe and ready to be put to use. Go get a pair! The snow is coming!

FLUX FRIDAY!

Feliz de Friday Flux Fans!  It is the last day of September and we are officially falling into Fall–the season between summer livin and winter wonderland– the season of waiting.  Autumn is the time to amp up, gear up, and start seriously thinking about snowboarding.

Flux riders Erik Leon and Ian Sams took a trip last season from Crestline, CA to Stevens Pass, WA and back— known only as Van Delirium.  It was wild…it was trippy…and I wouldn’t expect anything less from these guys.  They are awesome.  On the Van Delirium, they contemplated– ”Why do we snowboard? Why do we care why we snowboard? If we care about why we snowboard, then are we really focusing on what matters most? What does matter the most? Why wouldn’t we just go snowboarding for the sake of snowboarding?”

So, for the sake of snowboarding… this is episode 1 of their trip :

Didn’t we say these guys are awesome?  So awesome that Ian won $25,000 in the SME video contest that was announced at Hot Dawgs last weekend!!  A big congrats goes out to him– he will be livin cheesy this winter! Check out the video that got him the win by CLICKING HERE!

Besides winning more cash than the actual winners of the contest– Ian laid down some gnarly tricks at Hot Dawgs.  The weather was perfect, the set up was huge, and Flux riders were killing it.  If you didn’t make it, the event was very well documented.  Snowboarder Magazine and Transworld Snowboard Magazine all captured the moment well, while we got some sweet shots of our Flux team.  Stay tuned for the video–coming soon.

Yuma Abe and Kataro Kamimura flew out from Japan just for Hot Dawgs—Why weren’t you there?

On the otherside of the globe, the YES crew premiered their movie in Chile and Jake Koia premiered “Given’s, ‘One.’”  in his hometown of Queenstown.  The movies was just as good there as it was here… but they were in a these rad places and  just had more Red Bulls. Fluxing Fantastic….

This past weekend, snowboarders took over the OC as “Given” was premiered in Laguna Beach Friday, September 16.  A lot of people came out to the old theater to watch some good old fashion snow slashin and ridiculous rail riding.

Snow movies should play in theaters more often–everyone was having a good time.

A big congratulations goes out to Zac Marben for having a wildly successful first art show!    From the small detailed doodles of black pen on white paper, to the big brush strokes of some of his larger pieces—Zac’s creative energy shown through!  A definite favorite was his enlarged polaroid photos on a wood backing.   Zacs art, set alongside some awesome musicians, a vibin crowd and complementary brews was a great time! Keep the art alive Zac!

Michilot Bro Model
