The weather is getting colder and we have seen the first flakes of the season in some of our mountains! Forecasters say this is the shortest duration between snow storms since 1969! We want to think mama nature is giving us a taste of a snowy season to come!
Although we still have time until lifts open, we can’t help but get excited. Are you ready for opening day? Do you have your fresh Flux Bindings on your board? Flux is in stores across the globe and ready to be put to use. Go get a pair! The snow is coming!

Feliz de Friday Flux Fans! It is the last day of September and we are officially falling into Fall–the season between summer livin and winter wonderland– the season of waiting. Autumn is the time to amp up, gear up, and start seriously thinking about snowboarding.
Flux riders Erik Leon and Ian Sams took a trip last season from Crestline, CA to Stevens Pass, WA and back— known only as Van Delirium. It was wild…it was trippy…and I wouldn’t expect anything less from these guys. They are awesome. On the Van Delirium, they contemplated– ”Why do we snowboard? Why do we care why we snowboard? If we care about why we snowboard, then are we really focusing on what matters most? What does matter the most? Why wouldn’t we just go snowboarding for the sake of snowboarding?”
So, for the sake of snowboarding… this is episode 1 of their trip :
Didn’t we say these guys are awesome? So awesome that Ian won $25,000 in the SME video contest that was announced at Hot Dawgs last weekend!! A big congrats goes out to him– he will be livin cheesy this winter! Check out the video that got him the win by CLICKING HERE!
Besides winning more cash than the actual winners of the contest– Ian laid down some gnarly tricks at Hot Dawgs. The weather was perfect, the set up was huge, and Flux riders were killing it. If you didn’t make it, the event was very well documented. Snowboarder Magazine and Transworld Snowboard Magazine all captured the moment well, while we got some sweet shots of our Flux team. On the otherside of the globe, the YES crew premiered their movie in Chile and Jake Koia premiered “Given’s, ‘One.’” in his hometown of Queenstown. The movies was just as good there as it was here… but they were in a these rad places and just had more Red Bulls. Looks like it got wild. Check out Jake’s Blog and this wrap up video….

On September 18, 2010 Bear Mountain hosted the perpetually infamous Hot Dogs and Handrails. Invited pro riders travel to Big Bear, California to compete in the annual end of the summer rail jam. Local shredders from all over So Cal have made the event an unofficial holiday to celebrate and kick off the upcoming snow season. This years setup had a street spot vibe, complete with ledges, down handrails, a planter gap and a wall ride. Flux team rider, Nick Visconti, threw a one-footer on the wall feature, and 5-0 to front flip over the planter securing him 1st place in the contest! Congratulations go out to Nick for some epic riding! Beside the September shred, at sundown viewers got a chance to see the premier of this years People’s Cheers and Bear’s Mtn. Video Paint it Red. Spectators at the event and the after party were stoked to receive shwagg from vendors—especially Flux. Hot Dogs and Handrails at Big Bear Mountain is incomparable to any other summer shred event and left everyone with an amplified craving for the snow flakes to fall. Hot diggity dog! 2010/2011 season is just around the corner!
This past weekend, Big Bear held it’s annual winter season kick-off event, Hot Dawgs and Handrails. Thousands of attendees were treated to the tons of invited pros who came to battle it out at the biggest pre-season rail jam event in the nation. But enough of the event, we all know how fun it was…blah, blah, blah, blah.
Here is the relevent news, Scott Vine won! He killed the course and murdered all 6 features. He backside rodeo 720′ed the wallride!! What!?
