JP Solberg, Romain De Marchi and the YES crew sent it in the Whistler backcountry in the Transworld team shoot out!
“The YES crew went deep. They scouted a rare new zone in the already bombarded Whistler backcountry spending three days breaking trail just accessing it. They camped, cut trees, waited out storms, heli’d and got gnarly. The mission was an effort to catch the essence of snowboarding in a natural state and express a rider’s individual bond with the mountain.”

The Dew Hut was centre stage of the slopestyle snowboard course where the top riders in the Southern Hemisphere went for broke in a bid to win part of the $19,000 cash prize purse. The Dew Hut Jam is the richest freestyle snowboarding contest in the country and is a 3-star event on the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour. A crowd of thousands braved the inclement weather to watch Team Oakley’s Stef Zeestraten (Wanaka) and Jake Koia (Queenstown) beat some tough competition to win the event, displaying consistently skilled riding, despite the difficult conditions.

Jake was awarded $6,000 and a wooden arrow.
“Wait, is that $6000 US dollars or AU dollars??”
